Vintage or old stuff: what interior items are best not to throw away

Fashion is a transient and fickle thing. It is very difficult for a person who is not initiated into all the nuances to understand modern terminology.

It may happen that a citizen has a real Klondike of vintage things in his closet, for which a stylist would give his last, but the person considers it junk.

Let's try to understand the objects that live out their days on the fine line between the words "vintage" and "old stuff".

At the moment, the furniture of the Soviet era, which was produced in the period 1960-1970, is of interest. Of particular value are various kinds of furniture sets produced by comrades from Czechoslovakia, Poland, the GDR or Yugoslavia.

1. Cabinets and wall units, which are now called modular furniture, even if they are Soviet-era models, can be disassembled and placed as separate elements in a room. The material there is strong and this furniture will last for decades.

2. Lamps, especially those that grandparents or parents brought back from a trip to the Baltics, will be a great decoration for a modern apartment.

3. If you have a working radiogram, you are on top. They say that now it is the hit of the season and also the dream of any music lover.

4. Table, wall and floor clocks are all masterpieces of design. Even if they don't work, they are worth repairing at any cost.

5. Parquet, even if it is not in fashion, has enormous value. It lies for centuries with normal care. And creaking floorboards can "tell" a lot of interesting things.

6. It is reckless to throw away typewriters and suitcases, dressing tables and chests of drawers. All of this fits tastefully into the interior of modern apartments.

Remember, things become interesting when you know their history.
