But sometimes apartment owners become so carried away by aesthetics that the rooms become unsuitable for habitation.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", designer Yulia Tychino named 5 mistakes that make the interior functionally ineffective.
1. So, if you have to huddle in a small space, you should forget about bulky partitions - they are only suitable for large and bright rooms. Use a through shelving unit instead of a solid structure or take a closer look at other zoning methods.
2. The diametrically opposite solution in the form of no walls or transparent partitions is also not always suitable. For example, you should not give up walls if we are talking about a bedroom, toilet, bathroom or children's room.
3. Another mistake is to use only overhead lighting – in this case, the interior will acquire a dull and dreary look. Do not deny yourself the pleasure of arranging lighting in layers – general, accent and task.
4. Now a little about wet areas, namely the bathroom and kitchen. Avoid using porous materials in these rooms – natural marble and untreated wood. Due to dirt that penetrates deep into the surface, natural materials will very quickly lose their attractive appearance.
5. Finally, we advise you to forget about solid monochrome - if you paint everything in one color, living in such an environment will soon become boring. If you cannot resist the appeal of such a solution, play with it with different textures and halftones.
