3 Common Kitchen Design Mistakes: How to Fix Them

You will hardly argue with the fact that the kitchen is the most visited place in the house.

This is the main reason why it must be comfortable, ergonomic and beautiful. In this regard, the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", designer Yulia Tychino decided to talk about common mistakes made when decorating a kitchen, as well as how to correct them.

Cabinets with massive handles

Handles are a necessary part of any furniture, including kitchen cabinets. But sometimes they become a real problem.

For example, massive handles sometimes prevent you from opening the cabinet completely, especially if we are talking about corner cabinets. Therefore, it would be better if you choose miniature fittings for the kitchen set or refuse them altogether.

The handles will be replaced by a design that opens by pressing, or by recesses on the doors.

Glossy facades

Glossy surfaces certainly look beautiful, but they are not practical. Even if you and your household have clean hands, they will still leave fingerprints on glossy facades.

Matte surfaces are less susceptible to contamination, so you should choose them if you do not want to constantly wipe off greasy stains, water splashes, fingerprints and other contaminants from the glossy surface.

Regular shelves instead of pull-out ones

Pull-out shelves are more convenient, functional and efficient than traditional ones. To find the necessary thing on such a shelf, it is enough to simply pull it out and look at the contents.

If the cabinet has regular drawers or shelves, you will have to remove all of their contents in order to examine everything properly and to get the necessary item hidden in the depths.

For reference

A kitchen is a room for preparing food.
