Almost 50% of adult men in Germany regularly consume raw minced meat.

Around a third of German women follow their example – also on a regular basis.

In Germany, this strange dish for our people is called “meth”.

By the way, this is not theirs, German, but a foreign, French, culinary miracle-yudo.

According to the expert of the online publication Belnovosti in the field of cooking, chef Yulia Arkhipova , meth is minced meat spread on bread.

This sandwich was very popular among British and French eaters in the century before last.

Interestingly, it is called a type of "Tatar steak" (a piece of chopped beef with a fried egg on top).

The Germans use pork, and sometimes add beef.

In their country, as in some other countries, “Tatar” meat dishes gained nationwide love after people learned what a refrigerator was.

That is, this food became widespread at the beginning of the last century, and before that, minced meat was consumed fresh. Mainly in winter.

And the word Mett means "food" in translation. Initially, this dish was food for the poor in Germany, since not everyone could afford sausage.

However, not every minced meat is suitable for meth, and it is not eaten right away.

For this, meat with a small amount of fat, without lard, is selected. Seasoned with raw onions, salt, and spices.
