If you have failed to calculate the amount of food for the New Year's table, you will have to decide what to do with the leftover holiday dishes.

Finishing off appetizers and hot dishes with the thought “otherwise it will go to waste” is not a good idea.

Instead, think about how you can use leftover food in a useful way, advises Yulia Arkhipova, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti and a chef. For example, you can do the following with Olivier salad.

Prepare the casserole

To do this, you need to transfer the salad into a baking dish and sprinkle it with grated cheese.

Place the future casserole in the oven preheated to 200 degrees for 15 minutes. The result will be a delicious combination of vegetables, meat and eggs.

Bake a pizza

From the leftover Olivier salad and dough you can make something like pizza.

All you need to do is roll out a layer of dough and put the filling from the remains of the New Year's salad on it. As a result, you will get a tasty, and most importantly, economical treat.

How long can you store Olivier salad?

Remember that most salads, including Olivier, are perishable products.

This means that even in the refrigerator they can be stored for no more than 18 hours - if the dish has not been seasoned.

The shelf life of salads after dressing is reduced to 12 hours.

As for Olivier, which contains canned ingredients (peas) and boiled eggs, its “life” is even shorter and is only 6 hours.

Do not ignore this requirement to avoid food poisoning.
