A gourmet who often eats potato pancakes will sooner or later have a desire to prepare some other potato dish.
After all, even the most delicious food becomes boring if you start eating it every or almost every day.
So, what is an alternative to potato pancakes?
The expert of the online publication Belnovosti in the field of cooking, chef, fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova recommends making potato syrniki.
The dish is softer and more tender than potato pancakes.
Plus, the addition of an unexpected ingredient (cheese) will provide an extra burst of flavor.
And potato cheesecakes look very beautiful. You can safely put a plate with such a dish on the festive table.
Recipe for Potato Cheesecakes
Take half a kilo of potatoes, peel them and boil them.
Drain the water, mash the cooked vegetables, add a couple of tablespoons of milk and a similar amount of vegetable oil.
Mix the contents of the pan thoroughly. It should form a fairly dense mass.
When the puree has cooled down a bit, add one raw egg and 50 grams of grated cheese. After mixing again, use the following additives: 100 grams of flour and half a teaspoon of baking powder.
"Process" the mixture again. The dough will come out, from which you can easily mold cheesecakes. But do not forget to sprinkle your hands with flour.
You can use a filling. For example, a piece of cheese and chopped herbs.
Place the resulting "pucks" in a preheated frying pan and fry them on both sides until golden. It will take no more than 7 minutes to prepare one "batch" of syrniki.
You will get a dish that will be incredibly tasty on its own and will go perfectly with sour cream. Enjoy!
