Pirozhki are popular among travelers and students. They are still in demand among the population, despite fast food and other unhealthy foods.
They have only one drawback: when the pies get stale, they become less tasty.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova - a cook, fourth-class baker told how to bake pies that do not go stale.
You will need:
- kefir 250 ml;
- flour 400 g;
- egg 1 pc;
- vegetable oil 20 ml;
- sugar 1 tbsp;
- salt ½ tsp;
- soda ½ tsp;
- potatoes 6 pcs;
- processed cheese 2 pcs;
- herbs to taste;
- butter 30 g;
- onion 1 pc.
How to cook
1. Boil the potatoes until done in salted water and mash them with butter. Then add chopped cheese and herbs.
2. Fry the onion and add to the puree.
3. Mix kefir, salt, sugar, egg in a bowl, then add soda and leave for 2-3 minutes.
4. Pour in vegetable oil, stir, add sifted flour, knead the dough.
5. Divide the dough into equal parts of approximately 70 grams each, form the pies, roll them into flat cakes and fill with potato filling.
Fry the pies in a frying pan with vegetable oil until golden brown and serve. Enjoy!
