Pelmeni are rightfully considered one of the most popular and favorite dishes in the world.

They are prepared in different ways, but they are especially tasty and juicy if fried in a frying pan, says Yulia Arkhipova, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti and a chef.

She told how to make perfect fried dumplings with a crispy crust and juicy filling.

For this recipe you will need the following ingredients:

  • frozen dumplings – 400 g;
  • vegetable oil – 3-4 tbsp;
  • water or broth – 100 ml;
  • salt, spices, pepper – to taste;
  • fresh herbs – optional;
  • butter – 2 tbsp. (optional).

Heat a frying pan over medium heat, add vegetable oil, and when it is hot, place the frozen dumplings in the pan so that they do not come into contact with each other.

Fry the dumplings over medium heat, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides. This step usually takes 4-5 minutes.

When the dumplings are golden brown, pour water or broth into the pan, cover and cook for another 5 minutes until the liquid evaporates.

Almost ready: all that's left is to add salt and your favorite spices and fry the dumplings for another 2-3 minutes to make the crust crispier.

Fried dumplings should be served with butter and fresh finely chopped herbs.
