Any housewife can now easily cook a pot of borscht, rolling up the dressing in jars in the fall, like some kind of salad or vegetable appetizer.
There is no better way to save time spent in the kitchen. In winter, all you have to do is cook some meat broth and open a jar of the preparation.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova - a cook, fourth-category baker told how to prepare a dressing for borscht for the winter.
You will need:
- cabbage 1 kg;
- beetroot 1 kg;
- carrots 500 g;
- onion (bulb) 500 g;
- tomatoes 1 kg;
- pepper (bell pepper) 500 g;
- salt 2 tbsp;
- sugar 2 tbsp;
- vinegar (9%) 100 ml;
- vegetable oil.
How to cook
1. Chop the cabbage, tomatoes, onions and bell peppers, boil the beets and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
2. Fry the onion until golden brown, then add the carrots and simmer the vegetables for 10 minutes.
3. Add tomatoes, peppers and simmer for another 15 minutes, then add cabbage.
4. After 30 minutes, add salt, pour in sugar, bring the mixture to a boil and let the vegetables simmer for 5 minutes, then add vinegar and you can pour the dressing into sterilized jars.
We roll up the lids and after the preparation has cooled, we put it away for storage.
