The taste of squash caviar is familiar to everyone from childhood. This simple snack has become popular among the broadest sections of the population.
The preparation did not lose its popularity even after housewives forgot about the times of total shortages.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova, a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to prepare classic squash caviar.
You will need:
- zucchini - 2-3 pcs.;
- carrots - 2 pcs.;
- onions - 2-3 pcs.;
- tomatoes - 3-4 pcs.;
- garlic - 2-3 cloves;
- vegetable oil;
- vinegar, salt, sugar to taste.
How to cook
1. Cut the peeled onion into cubes and fry until transparent in vegetable oil, then add the grated carrots.
2. Peel and seed the zucchini, cut into medium cubes, cut the tomatoes as you like and put the vegetables to simmer over low heat.
3. After the vegetables have stewed, add chopped garlic, salt and sugar, stew for another 5 minutes, remove from heat, and when cool, mince or use a blender.
4. Bring to a boil, add vinegar and pour into sterilized jars. Enjoy!
