Tomato juice is one of the most useful winter preparations that can be prepared at home.
It is good for the liver, gastrointestinal tract, and preparing it is no more difficult than making salads or other preserves for the winter.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova, a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to make tomato juice.
You will need:
- tomatoes - 1.5 kg;
- salt - 10-15 g or to taste;
- sugar - 10 gr.
How to cook
1. Cut clean tomatoes into quarters and chop in a blender or pass through a meat grinder.
2. The resulting puree should be rubbed through a sieve. The seeds and the remains of the skin should be thrown away.
3. Add salt and sugar to the resulting mass, transfer to a saucepan and place on the stove.
4. Bring the juice to a boil, then cook for 15 minutes.
Pour into sterilized jars, close with lids and store in a cool, dark place.
It is believed that it is healthier to drink tomato juice without salt, and its taste can be improved with the help of basil.
