Yulia Arkhipova , an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, a chef, told us how to prepare beets for the winter so that you don’t have to waste time on cooking, cutting and grating them.
To do this you will need:
- 1 kg beetroot;
- 1 tablespoon salt;
- 1 l of water;
- 3 g citric acid.
First, boil the vegetables for 20-25 minutes – until half-cooked – then cool them and grate.
If you prefer chopped beets, you can shred them with a knife.
After this, place the root vegetables in small, pre-sterilized jars and you can begin preparing the marinade.
To do this, you will need to pour water into a saucepan, add salt and lemon juice and let it boil for a minute.
The hot marinade should be poured into the jars so that the liquid completely covers the beets.
All that remains is to roll up, turn over and wrap the blanks.
