It is not customary to serve shashlik with potatoes, porridge or pasta. They say that this is not very good for digestion, and such a side dish simply does not allow you to enjoy the taste of the meat.
Therefore, fresh vegetables, herbs or sauces are served with shashlik, but not necessarily ketchup.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to prepare a spicy tomato appetizer for shashlik.
You will need:
- tomatoes (small) - 500 g;
- basil (fresh) to taste;
- mozzarella - 150 gr;
- salt, black pepper to taste;
- oregano - a pinch;
- garlic - 2-3 cloves;
- soy sauce - 1 tbsp;
- vegetable oil - 1 tbsp.
How to cook
1. It is better to use small tomatoes for this recipe. Cherry tomatoes are best. Cut the fruits into quarters, and very small ones into halves.
2. Press the garlic and chop the herbs.
3. Transfer the vegetables and greens to a salad bowl, add the spices listed and chopped garlic. Pour the sauce and vegetable oil over everything.
Let it sit for a bit, stir and serve. Enjoy!
