What could be simpler than cooking rice? Many people pour water on it, put it on the stove and wait for it to cook.

This approach is possible, but it is unlikely that you will get truly tasty and balanced rice.

Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to act in such a situation.

Therefore, it is worth understanding when it is best to add rice to water and what cooking method should be used.

What you need for cooking

It is worth noting right away that this method of preparation is radically different from what many are accustomed to. Therefore, first of all, it is necessary to prepare:

1) high-quality rice;

2) the required amount of purified water;

3) 2 bay leaves;

4) cinnamon stick;

5) 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil.

Bay leaf and cinnamon can be added at your discretion, these ingredients are not at all necessary, but they will have a positive effect on the taste of the dish.

How to cook

• first of all, it is necessary to thoroughly rinse the cereal. Here it is worth following a simple rule: the water after rinsing should be clean;

• add salt and bay leaf to the water;

• add rice when it starts to boil;

• You can add cinnamon immediately after adding the rice. But it is important to remember that it can greatly affect the taste of the dish;

• during cooking, it is important to reduce the heat to a minimum and stir the porridge regularly;

• at the very end, you need to remove the bay leaf and cinnamon, adding olive oil instead.

This method of cooking is definitely worth trying. And here it is worth remembering an important rule: rice is added to boiling water, not cold, this point should be taken into account.
