Baking during Lent may seem unthinkable to a Christian. But no one said that you can't bake a pie without eggs and water.
If you try, you can get a pretty good charlotte or apple pie.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to bake a pie with water and without eggs.
You will need:
- apples - 500 g;
- flour - 240 g;
- baking powder - 7 g;
- water - 200 ml;
- sugar - 100 g;
- vanilla sugar - 10 g;
- salt - a pinch;
- honey - 1 tbsp;
- vegetable oil - 80 gr.
How to cook
1. Add sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, honey to the boiled cooled water and mix everything.
2. Add vegetable oil, mix and sift the flour mixed with baking powder.
3. Mix and get a dough that is slightly more liquid in consistency than with the classic recipe.
4. Peel and cut the apples, place them in a form treated with oil, and pour in the dough.
Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius for 50 minutes.
Let the pie cool, then remove it from the pan and serve.
