Perfect French fries require double frying.
How to do this was explained by Yulia Arkhipova, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti.
The first roasting is done at a temperature of about 150 °C for about 1.5-2 minutes.
Thanks to it, the potato slices are baked in the middle, while their color practically does not change.
After the first frying, the potatoes should be transferred to a napkin to cool completely.
The second frying is necessary to form a crispy crust.
It is carried out at a temperature of about 180 °C. If you do not have a kitchen thermometer, you can check the readiness of the frying oil by dropping one potato slice into it. If it immediately sizzles and floats, this means that the oil is ready for use.
Important: Place the future French fries in the oil in one layer, so that the oil completely covers the potatoes.
Continue frying until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
Place the finished French fries on a napkin or use a colander to remove excess oil.
