How to cook fried potatoes in a general's style: they were given this name for a reason

Fried potatoes are rightfully considered one of the most popular dishes that are often cooked at home.

Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova told about a special version of this dish, which is called "fried potatoes in a general's style". When you cook this dish, you will understand why it got this name.

To do this you will need:

  • Potatoes – 500 g
  • Minced meat/chicken – 250-300 g,
  • Onion – 1 pc.
  • Garlic – 2-3 cloves
  • Salt and pepper - to taste
  • Vegetable oil - for frying

To prepare fried potatoes in a general's style, first fry the potatoes as you usually do. Cut the tubers into thin strips or sticks and fry in a frying pan in vegetable oil until half-cooked.

In a separate frying pan, fry the minced meat together with the chopped onion.

When the potatoes are almost ready, add the fried minced meat to them.

Also add finely chopped garlic, salt, pepper and other spices to taste. Mix all the ingredients well and fry for a couple more minutes under the lid.

The finished dish can be served with pickles, sauerkraut and green onions. These ingredients will perfectly complement the taste of fried potatoes in the general's style and make it even richer.
