Lent is not the easiest time. You need to find a golden mean between the usefulness and appetizing nature of food, but at the same time stay within reasonable limits.
If you can’t eat meat during Lent, that doesn’t mean you can’t make cutlets, especially mushroom ones.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to cook lean cutlets with mushrooms.
You will need:
- oatmeal - 50 g;
- boiling water - 80 ml;
- onion - 1 pc.;
- carrots - 1 pc.;
- garlic - 2 cloves;
- champignons - 50 g;
- potatoes - 200 g;
- herbs, salt, pepper to taste.
How to cook
1. Pour boiling water over the oatmeal, and until it becomes soft, you can peel and finely chop the onion.
2. Fry it in a frying pan with a little vegetable oil, then add grated carrots and garlic passed through a press.
3. Finely chop the champignons or grate them on a coarse grater. Add to the vegetables, stir and fry without covering.
4. When the water has evaporated, transfer the mixture into a bowl, add the herbs and oatmeal, you can mix everything with a blender.
5. Peel the raw potatoes, grate them on a fine grater, add them to the bowl with the vegetable mixture, then add salt and pepper and mix.
Heat the frying pan and spoon in the cutlets, frying them on medium heat on both sides. Enjoy!
