It is believed that pancakes are a traditional dish of Russian cuisine. But this does not mean that pancakes are not baked in any country in the world.
Even Chinese housewives cook them. Here is a very budget-friendly and Lenten recipe.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova - a cook, fourth-class baker told how to cook Chinese-style pancakes.
You will need:
- flour (wheat) 3 cups;
- water (boiling water) 1.5 cups;
- oil (vegetable) 1 tsp.
How to cook
First, bring the water to a boil and sift the flour into a bowl, then pour in the boiling water in a thin stream.
Mix with a spoon and add vegetable oil. You should get a moderately thick dough.
Let it sit under a towel for half an hour, then roll it out, gather it into a ball and repeat the procedure again. This should be done for 5 minutes.
When all the lumps have disappeared, divide the dough into three equal parts, form each into long sausages, and divide them into 8-10 pieces.
Each piece should be rolled into a thin pancake about 15 cm in diameter, and then fried in a heated dry frying pan at minimum heat. Enjoy your meal!
