If your family left a pot half-filled with mashed potatoes in the refrigerator, don't be too upset that your efforts were in vain.
Instead, prepare a new dish from yesterday’s side dish – for example, potato pancakes, the recipe for which was shared by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova .
For this, in addition to the puree, you will need:
- 1 egg;
- 2 tablespoons flour;
- 100 g cheese;
- 1-2 sprigs of fresh herbs;
- salt and black pepper – to taste.
If desired (and available), you can add smoked bacon or ham.
As you can see, all the ingredients are quite ordinary and probably already in your refrigerator. The process of making pancakes from mashed potatoes is also simple.
To do this, beat an egg into the mashed potatoes, add grated cheese, bacon and finely chopped herbs.
Don't forget to add salt and pepper to the contents of the bowl, then mix everything thoroughly.
All that remains is to form flat cakes from the resulting mass and fry them in a frying pan on both sides with the addition of vegetable oil until they are browned.
