Lenten cabbage rolls also turn out tasty, appetizing and very aromatic.
It is enough to replace the meat component in the recipe with mushrooms. For example, an excellent combination will be made from rice, cabbage and champignons.
Ingredients
- cabbage - 1 pc.;
- champignons - 500 g;
- rice - 150 g;
- onion - 1 pc.;
- carrots - 1 pc.;
- sweet pepper - 1 pc.;
- garlic - 1 clove;
- tomato paste - 1 tbsp. l.;
- salt and ground black pepper - 1/2 tsp.
How to cook cabbage rolls
First, you need to separate the leaves from the cabbage and pour boiling water over them for 3 minutes.
Rice should be rinsed in cold water and cooked for about 10 minutes.
The remaining vegetables should be chopped.
Half an onion and champignons should be fried with some of the sweet pepper. Spices should be added to the frying.
Then you need to form the cabbage rolls. For the filling, you need to mix onions, rice, and mushrooms.
The cabbage rolls should then be transferred to a saucepan with vegetable sauté of carrots, peppers, garlic, onions and tomato paste. It is advisable to pour broth or water over all of this. The dish should be stewed for about half an hour.
It is better to serve this treat with sour cream and chopped fresh herbs.
