Usually a bottle of kefir is stored in the main chamber of the refrigerator.

But sometimes it makes sense to put the container in the freezer.

In what case should this be done? The answer is simple: in the situation when kefir is planned to be consumed not as a drink, but as... a spread.

Yes, a fermented milk product can be turned into a tasty mass that can be spread on slices of bread.

Once the drink is frozen, the product will need to be removed from the refrigerator and the plastic shell carefully removed with a knife.

The remaining "ice cube" must be cut. The resulting pieces should be placed on a colander covered with gauze. The latter device should be installed in a deep container (for example, in a saucepan).

The resulting “construction” needs to be placed on a shelf in the refrigerator for several hours.

During this time, the kefir will defrost. The whey will drain into the pan, but a soft mass similar in consistency to cottage cheese will remain on the gauze. This is the very spread.

You can add grated cucumber, greens and chopped garlic to this "porridge". The result will be a product that should be spread on slices of bread. You will get delicious sandwiches.
