In the modern world, where the pace of life is becoming faster and faster, and there is less and less time to prepare lunch or dinner, many people prefer to buy ready-made products in supermarkets near their home.

However, sometimes you want to treat yourself and your loved ones with something delicious and home-made.

That's why we decided to share with you a recipe for salting herring at home.

It will take you only a day to prepare such fish, and in the end you will get a herring that is much tastier, more aromatic, and most importantly – fresher than in the store.

So, the first thing to do after buying herring is to clean the fish and then cut it into pieces.

After this, you can start preparing the marinade.

For this you will need 0.5 l of water, 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of sugar (without a slide). Don't forget to add 2 bay leaves, which should be pre-crushed, as well as 5 black peppercorns and coriander - to taste.

When the marinade boils, turn off the heat and wait until it cools to room temperature.

After this, pour the resulting “brine” over the fish and put it in the refrigerator.

This herring is good for both “Shuba” and for serving on the table with butter and onions.
