Gingerbread is considered to be a New Year's treat of European and American tradition.
They are a wonderful addition to aromatic tea, cocoa or coffee. But gingerbread according to this recipe can be prepared not only in winter.
You will need:
- ginger - 2 tsp;
- cinnamon - 2 tsp;
- soda - 1 tsp;
- butter - 130 g;
- flour - 450 g;
- egg - 1 pc.;
- sugar - 90 g;
- honey - 160 gr.
How to cook
1. Grate the ginger root and mix with sugar, cinnamon and honey in a deep saucepan.
2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly. When the sugar dissolves, add the soda and mix the ingredients.
3. Cook the mixture until it becomes the color of milk chocolate, then remove it from the heat and add the butter.
4. After the mixture has cooled, add the egg, mix thoroughly, add flour and knead the dough until it becomes sticky.
5. When ready, put it in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes, then roll it out into a 2-3 cm thick layer and shape it into gingerbread using molds.
6. Transfer to a baking sheet and bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
