Don't assume that you need special ingredients or special equipment to make honey chak-chak.
And you won't need the skills of a professional pastry chef either. The main thing is to stock up on the necessary products and you can safely start preparing the most delicious treat. For this you will need:
- 400 g flour (use premium grade);
- 1 glass of honey;
- 1 cup sugar;
- 4 eggs;
- 750 ml vegetable oil;
- 0.5 teaspoon salt;
- 0.5 teaspoon of soda;
- walnuts (almonds) – for decoration.
The first thing you need to do is sift the flour onto the work surface, then pour in the eggs with salt and soda and knead the dough. The main thing is that it does not turn out too soft and sticky.
Place the resulting mass in a bag and refrigerate for 20 minutes, then roll into a thin layer and cut into strips no more than 5 cm wide.
These strips are then folded in half and cut into thin noodles, which are then fried for a couple of minutes in hot oil until golden brown.
The half-cooked chak-chak should be laid out on paper towels, which will absorb excess fat, and in the meantime you can work on the syrup.
To do this, heat the sugar and honey in a thick-walled pan and bring to a boil. The syrup needs to simmer for a couple more minutes on low heat.
Almost ready: put the fried noodles into a deep bowl and pour in the syrup, and after mixing thoroughly, form a beautiful mound on a flat plate (sprinkle the dish with water beforehand). Use nuts for decoration.
