Wait for the liquid to actively boil and reduce the flame intensity. Add salt in the middle of the process. Bring the potatoes to full readiness under the lid.
After draining the water, the potatoes will need to be left in the pan on the stove for five to seven minutes.
This process takes from 20 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the potatoes.
