One of the healthy offal is chicken hearts. They are usually stewed, but it is not always tasty or sophisticated.
In reality, there are more recipes than housewives think. Here are 2 recipes to choose from: hearts in sour cream or hearts in Chinese style.
1. Chicken hearts in sour cream
Ingredients:
- 500 g chicken hearts;
- 1 onion;
- 2 cloves of garlic;
- 3 tablespoons sour cream;
- salt and pepper to taste;
- vegetable oil for frying
Preparation
1. Chop the onion and garlic finely.
2. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add vegetable oil.
3. Saute the onion and garlic for 2-3 minutes until soft.
4. Add chicken hearts and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes.
5. Add sour cream, salt and pepper.
6. Mix all ingredients and cook for another 5-10 minutes until the hearts are soft and cooked through.
2. Chinese Chicken Hearts
Ingredients:
- 400 g chicken hearts;
- 1 carrot;
- 1 red bell pepper;
- 1 green bell pepper;
- 1 stalk of celery;
- 1 leek;
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce;
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil;
- 2 tablespoons of honey;
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar;
- 1 teaspoon of starch;
- salt to taste.
Preparation
1. Finely chop the carrots, red and green peppers, celery stalk and leek.
2. In a large skillet, heat the soy sauce, sesame oil and honey.
3. Add hearts, vegetables and rice vinegar.
4. Stir the ingredients and let them sit on medium heat for a few minutes.
5. Dissolve the starch in a small amount of water and add it to the pan.
