Buckwheat is a standard but healthy side dish that seems to be no longer able to surprise with its special taste.
In fact, this is not a true statement. Buckwheat can be improved, and it is not necessary to invent something new or try to repeat an ultra-complicated recipe.
It is enough to simply add one simple ingredient. With it, ordinary porridge will sparkle with new colors, and in tandem with fluffy and juicy cutlets or tender chicken fillet, it will turn into a very tasty dinner.
To prepare a delicious side dish, just add turmeric.
Ingredients
The list of products consists of:
- 1 cup buckwheat;
- 2 glasses of water;
- 2 tbsp butter;
- 1 tbsp turmeric;
- a pinch of salt.
How to prepare a side dish
1. First, the groats are thoroughly washed and then dried. This can be done on a hot frying pan. This trick will reveal the aroma of buckwheat even better.
2. Next, the main ingredient is poured into a saucepan and filled with water.
3. When the porridge starts to boil, reduce the heat to low. Add salt to the water and cook for 7 minutes.
4. While the buckwheat is cooking, mash the butter with a fork and mix with turmeric.
5. Add the oil to the pan and cook for another ≈5 minutes.
6. When the porridge is cooked, do not rush to put it on plates. Cover the buckwheat with a lid and let it sit for another 3-4 minutes.
