This recipe for pies made from a loaf of bread and leftover mashed potatoes is, first of all, distinguished by the fact that the preparation of the dish does not take much time.
And the ingredients, as you might have guessed, are only the simplest ones, namely:
- 500 g puree;
- 1 loaf;
- 1 onion;
- 3-4 eggs;
- salt and pepper (to taste);
- oil (for frying).
The onion needs to be peeled, washed under water and finely chopped, then combined with the potatoes.
When our filling is ready, you can start slicing the loaf.
When all the prep work is finished, spread one side of each loaf with potato. You should use a knife, just like you would spread butter or pate on toast.
Now break the eggs into a bowl, add salt and black pepper and mix well.
All that remains is to fry our improvised pies in oil – this can be either vegetable fat or butter – until they acquire a beautiful golden hue on each side.
Each slice of bread with mashed potatoes spread on it should be dipped into the egg mixture.
