If your Easter cake has dried out, you don't have to throw it away. You can cut it up and make wonderful croutons or use it for breadcrumbs.
We offer another delicious way to solve this problem - an apple dessert made from dried Easter cake.
To prepare you will need:
- 400 grams of stale Easter cake;
- 2 eggs;
- 80 g sugar;
- a pinch of salt;
- 10 g starch (corn);
- 400 ml milk;
- 50 g butter;
- cinnamon and vanillin to taste;
- zest of 1 orange and 2 tbsp. l. orange juice;
- 1 large apple.
How to cook
Mix eggs with sugar, add salt and starch, then milk and cook until the mixture begins to thicken.
Then add butter, vanilla, orange zest and juice, stir and leave the mixture to cool.
Cut off the top of the kulich and slice it. Peel the apple and cut it into thin slices.
Place the dried kulich in a greased baking dish, then the apples, and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon on top.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and cook the dessert for 20 minutes.
Bon appetit!
