Sandwiches with spread are a great snack, and they also look great on a holiday table.
We suggest you prepare sandwiches with false red caviar from herring and carrots – your guests will certainly be surprised.
What you will need:
- 1 medium sized herring;
- 150 g butter;
- 2 processed cheeses;
- 3 small carrots;
- a pinch of salt.
To begin, place the carrots in a saucepan filled with water and cook until soft.
Butter should be taken out of the refrigerator in advance so that it becomes soft.
You can use either herring fillet or whole fish. In the latter case, give preference to the one with caviar: this way the snack will be even tastier.
So, the herring should be minced. Alternatively, you can chop it using a blender, but the fish minced will be much more tender and uniform.
In the same way (using a meat grinder or blender) you should grind the carrots, cheese and butter.
Now the resulting mass needs to be thoroughly mixed and placed in the refrigerator so that it sets.
Once the false red caviar is ready, use it to spread on toasted white bread.
