Storing fresh fish in the freezer is not surprising to anyone.

But if we are talking about salted herring, many housewives begin to wonder whether it is acceptable to throw the carcass into the freezer compartment.

Although there is no need to doubt here - after all, the product remains the same, it’s just that this time salt and spices have been added to it (as in the case of spicy salted herring).

Just in case, keep a quick cheat sheet that includes information on which products are safe to freeze.

1. Fish carcass, vacuum packed.

2. Whole bulk herring, packed in a bag together with brine.

3. Herring fillet wrapped in thick film.

4. Pieces of fish in oil, placed in a plastic container.

As you know, there are exceptions to the rules - lightly dry-salted fish that has already been frozen cannot be frozen.
