Sweet and salty preparations for the winter cannot be stored for a long time. If experts are categorical with pickles and do not advise eating anything that has been stored for more than a year, then with jam the terms are more democratic.
But no one will eat last year's jam once fresh preserves appear.
This is what experienced housewives make from old supplies. It turns out to be a good alternative to candy.
To prepare you will need:
- 500 g jam;
- 30 g walnut kernels.
How to cook
Instead of throwing away the ingredients, recycle them and make pastila.
First, you need to clean the walnuts and, if necessary, dry the kernels in the oven or fry them in a frying pan - it will be tastier. You can grind them.
Then mix the nuts with the jam and line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
Spread the resulting mixture over the baking sheet in an even, thin layer.
Preheat the oven to 80 degrees Celsius and place the workpiece in the oven.
In this case, the door is left slightly open and the pastila is prepared for 8 hours.
When ready, you need to cut the resulting layer into strips and roll it into tubes.
Once cooled, you can serve it with tea.
Bon appetit!
