It often happens that the date you bought your eggs slips your mind, and when you open the refrigerator door, you have to tensely remember how long they have been there.
Instead of wasting time thinking, conduct a simple test, for which you will need, of course, the eggs themselves and water.
All you need to do is fill a glass or other suitable container with water and drop the egg into it.
If the egg is very fresh, it will remain on the bottom.
If the eggs are a week old, they will be positioned at an angle, with the flat end pointing up.
But if the egg rises to the surface of the water, it is probably at least three weeks old.
In this case, the air cell of the egg reached such a size that it easily floated to the surface.
The same (large size of the air chamber) is indicated by the "slurping" sounds that can be heard if you shake the egg vigorously. Such an egg can hardly be called fresh - it is better not to use it for food.
