What to cook instead of cutlets: recipe for minced meat "Nests" with cheese in the oven

This recipe helps out housewives when they want to cook something else instead of cutlets.

Cutlets are a popular, simple and beloved dish by many, but sometimes even it can get boring. Minced meat "nests" will be a great alternative to the usual dish.

The dish can be prepared for a festive table or for a regular dinner. The list of products consists of:

  • minced meat – 700 gr.;
  • eggs – 1 pc.;
  • onion – 1 head;
  • garlic – 2 cloves;
  • bread – 1 slice;
  • champignons – 300 gr.;
  • cheese – 100 gr.;
  • salt – ½ tsp;
  • herbs and black pepper – to taste.

Preparation

1. Remove the crusts from a slice of bread and soak it in milk. Using a blender, chop and mix the onion, garlic and softened bread.

2. Place the minced meat in a bowl and combine it with chopped onion, garlic and bread. Then add salt and pepper, then add the egg and mix well.

3. Put the mince aside and start preparing the filling. Cut the champignons into cubes. They can be replaced with wild or pickled mushrooms.

The champignons are fried in a frying pan with the addition of vegetable oil. The mushrooms are also salted and peppered to taste, and then removed from the heat.

4. Greens, such as onion feathers and parsley, are chopped and then added to the mushrooms.

5. Next, form balls from the minced meat – 100 grams each. Make a depression in the center with your hand or a glass, into which the filling is placed.

6. Bake the "nests" in the oven (200 °C) for 20 minutes. Then take the dish out, sprinkle with grated cheese and cook for another 10-15 minutes.
