What to put in jars of cereals to protect them from moths: a proven method

It would seem that when there is a supply of cereals, flour and other groceries, you can breathe a sigh of relief, but it was not so.

It is not uncommon for thrifty housewives to notice that moths have appeared among rice and buckwheat.

In this case, there is no point in trying to revive flour or cereals - no matter how you heat treat or sift them, they will not be suitable for food.

It would be far more prudent to take preventative measures to prevent losses.

All cereals and flour up to approximately 2 kg in volume should be stored in glass or ceramic containers, or alternatively in food bags made of paper.

In addition, it is worth putting a walnut leaf in each jar or bag.

When one or another product runs out, you can safely add the next portion without changing the leaf – it will serve you faithfully for a whole year.

By the way, this same "talisman" should be used to fight moths that have settled in your wardrobe. If you live in a region where walnuts do not grow, try buying them at a pharmacy.
