Tea lovers sometimes wonder how long to brew the drink, what the water temperature is, how many grams are needed for one cup.
There are precise answers to all these questions that will help improve the quality of the drink brewed at home.
Amount of brewing
For 200 ml of water take 2 g (1 tsp) of tea. If you add more, the drink will be more bitter or will lose its authentic taste and aroma. Too strong tea contains a high amount of fluorides. Their accumulation in the body leads to the development of osteoporosis and skeletal fluorosis.
Brewing time
It all depends on the variety. So, black tea, oolong, puer are brewed for 3-5 minutes, green and white – 2-3 minutes. Tizan is a decoction of medicinal herbs. It is brewed for 5 minutes.
When brewed for a long time, phenol, lipids and essential oils oxidize. This reduces the benefits of theine and spoils the taste and aroma of the drink. Bitterness does not indicate a high caffeine content, but the presence of harmful substances.
Brewing temperature
The average temperature is 95 °C. But there are recommendations for certain varieties. For example, black tea, oolong, pu-erh, tisane - 100 °C. As for white and green tea, the raw material is more delicate, so the optimal temperature is within 75-85 °C.
