Sometimes you just want to make good old meatballs with mashed potatoes, because your heart needs warm home-cooked food that is associated with childhood and comfort.
That's why we need to take the minced meat out of the freezer in the morning to please our family with a portion of juicy homemade meatballs for dinner.
But how can you make meatballs as delicious as grandma’s?
Five effective and golden tips, thanks to which your meatballs will definitely turn out juicy!
Add onion
In addition to minced meat, other ingredients are added: eggs to keep the meatballs in shape, garlic for flavor, and onions for juiciness.
Do not neglect this vegetable, one head is enough for 500 g of minced meat. It can be eaten both raw and fried.
Don't skimp on the fat!
We all know that vegetable oil should be dosed, especially if we fry in it. It is good for your figure and for digestion. But in the case of meatballs, you have to act differently. In order to get a crispy and slightly moist crust, you need to pour in a little oil (1-2 tbsp.), for juicy meatballs this is necessary!
Use strong fire!
The first 2 minutes the meatballs should be fried over high heat, then they should be turned over and fried for another two minutes on the other side.
After that, cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat and fry until soft on both sides. You can bake meatballs in the oven in this way, but first use the first method, and then you will get an appetizing crust that will not let the juice leak out.
Experiment with butter or cheese!
To give the meatballs a delicate flavor, mix the mince with a small piece of softened butter and distribute it evenly.
You can also add grated cheese to the mince. Use only hard varieties, they do not melt as quickly at high temperatures.
Use a fattier mince
For example, if you want to make chicken meatballs, use thigh meat. And chicken breasts are good to just fry separately. If you want a slightly more dietary product, mix the breasts with minced meat.
