If you often like to pamper your family with delicious fresh baked goods, then you probably need to always have a bag of flour on hand.

However, with long-term storage, you may encounter various problems.

For example, flour can simply become damp, which will worsen its quality. Also, don't forget about parasites.

Experienced housewives, for example, store nails and black peppercorns in flour.

Why do they do this?

Few people know that the smell of nails is very unpleasant for insects that may appear in flour. Also, nails will "warn" the housewife that the flour has become damp - they will simply become rusty.

Housewives of the past often did this. But modern women prefer foil, which they shape into neat balls.

Even today, many housewives put peppercorns in a jar with flour. This helps protect the product from "attacks" by insects.

Bay leaves have a similar effect - just a couple of them are enough to put into the container.
