Lard lovers know many ways of salting. But not everyone has a salting recipe that will make even the toughest piece more tender than marshmallow.
It turned out that in order for lard to become tastier and acquire real softness, it must first be candied. No need to worry, you won't get a dessert from lard, but the snack will change for the better.
Ingredients:
- lard – 1 kg;
- sugar – 150 g;
- rock salt – 0.5 kg;
- garlic – 5-6 cloves;
- bay leaf – 3 pcs.;
- sweet paprika – teaspoon;
- hops-suneli – a teaspoon;
- ground black pepper – teaspoon.
Preparation
1. First, cut the lard into small portions. Roll each portion in sugar and cover with parchment paper.
2. The lard is candied for about a day. Before the next stage of preparation, the lard is washed and dried.
3. When the product has been in sugar for 24 hours, prepare the following mixture. Add salt, pepper, paprika, hops-suneli to a separate bowl. Add chopped garlic and bay leaf.
4. Rub the resulting mixture thoroughly into the lard and then put it in the refrigerator for a week. After 7 days, you can enjoy the spicy and soft snack.
