The main dish on the festive table at Christmas is called kutia, and not turkey or other poultry.
This is where the festive meal begins. Here's how to prepare not just a traditional, but also a delicious dish.
To prepare you will need:
- 300 g wheat;
- 100 g poppy seeds;
- 150 g peeled walnuts;
- 100 g raisins;
- 1 tbsp. honey;
- 100 g sugar.
How to cook
Wheat needs to be soaked in cold boiled water for 10 hours. Without this, the grain will have to be boiled for 2-3 hours.
The water in which the grain was soaked is drained, filled with water and brought to a boil over medium heat. Then reduce the heat to a minimum and cook the porridge for 40-50 minutes.
During this time, you need to prepare the walnut kernels. To do this, put them in an oven preheated to 150 degrees for 20 minutes.
The poppy seeds need to be washed, poured with 200 ml of boiling water, and the same is done with the raisins.
The swollen poppy seeds are mixed with 100 g of sugar and stirred with a blender.
The finished wheat is mixed with raisins, poppy seeds, crushed nuts and sugar, honey is added, stirred and served.
Bon appetit!
