Why you shouldn't teach a child under 3 to swim: you'll have to retrain them anyway

No one is going to dispute the benefits of water procedures for babies. It is, indeed, allowed to accustom them to them from the earliest age.

But here it is worth taking into account the fact that they do not imply independent movement, therefore, have nothing to do with swimming.

Moreover, as a result of such exercises, incorrect movements and body positions are reinforced.

This means that later, when the child begins to study fully, he will need a lot of time to relearn.

In order to prepare a future swimmer, it is necessary to introduce him to water gradually and only in a playful way.

Parents whose children are under three years old should help them overcome the fear they may experience when they are in the presence of large bodies of water.

Ideally, you can try to teach the child to put his face in the water. Later, these skills will be useful for proper breathing.

The best place to conduct training is a shallow pool filled with warm, clear water. Play in it with your child and toys, splashing water on each other, including on the face - while calming the child so that he is not afraid.

Blow bubbles together by putting your face in the water - try with your mouth first, then you can make bubbles with your nose.

Another exercise you can introduce to your little one is to squat down while diving into the water and immediately emerge.
