Does your child hate reading? Maybe you just need to turn off the Internet in the house or take away his smartphone?
No. You may just be giving out the wrong books.
How to choose a book for a child
Teens love graphic novels and manga—they're not "bad literature" but a bridge to reading.

Offer a comic based on a favorite movie or a quest book where the choice of the hero depends on the reader.
Another trick is a "family book club." Read one book and have a discussion with cookies.
Argue, joke, come up with alternative endings.
For little ones, a "reading adventure" is suitable
Hide notes with clues around the house ("Look where it's cold" - refrigerator) to find the "treasure" (new book).
Or read aloud, stopping at the most interesting part: “Continued tomorrow!” Curiosity will make them finish reading themselves.
Create a ritual
Read for 15 minutes before bed – even teenagers will soften if it becomes a tradition. Choose books with short chapters and a fast-paced plot.
Use technology
Audiobooks in the car, podcasts with stories - this is also “reading”.
And for those who love gadgets, there are interactive applications where text comes to life with animation.
