Every parent sooner or later has to face a situation when a child starts to be capricious and refuses to obey.
At such moments, it is important to remain calm and be able to react correctly.
What to do if a child does not obey
The surest way to resolve the situation is to talk to the child.
Even if your baby is currently hysterical, pick him up and take him to a safe place, name his emotions, assure him that you understand his anger, resentment or other negative feelings and wait until these emotions leave him.
How to control yourself? Remember that a child's tantrum is not connected with the child's bad manners or with the fact that you are a bad parent.
This condition was caused by internal reasons: it is quite possible that the baby is tired, has sensory overload, there are too many people around, etc.
In all these cases, hysteria is a physiological and psychological age-related feature.
Should you punish a child?
You should forget about punishments and moralizing conversations in such situations: they destroy the child’s trust and worsen your relationship with him.
Instead, communicate with him without putting him down and respecting his privacy. Let him know that he matters and his opinion is valuable.
Then the little person will gain self-confidence, learn to value himself and develop into a healthy individual who will be difficult to influence negatively in the future.
