It is not always the case that responsibility for the behavior of adult children lies solely with them.
Often, mistakes in upbringing lead to the fact that grown-up children turn away from their parents and a problem that once arose turns into a huge gap between the closest people.
Experts have named the main mistakes in parenting that cause such behavior in adult children.
First of all, parents are always right
Anyone who still thinks this way should be prepared that their child will do something similar in the future. The same applies to parents who are not used to asking their children for forgiveness.
Secondly, violation of personal boundaries
There should be trust between parents and children. Anxiety should not develop into total control, pressure or overprotection.
Thirdly, children have their own lives.
Even though they are your children, parents have no right to their lives. Therefore, they should not decide who the child will be, who to live with, and so on.
Control is only appropriate for minors, and then the child must be responsible for his own actions.
Fourthly, expressions of feelings and emotions
The older generation does not always know how to appreciate the actions of children and express their love. Some moms and dads believe that tender feelings and care are only needed by babies.
In reality, even adult children need support and protection.
