Many parents practice co-sleeping with their baby in an adult bed, but sooner or later the moment comes when the child has to be “moved” to a crib intended for him.
If you don't know how to do it right, use the tips in this article.
1. A baby who is not yet 6 months old can be rocked or placed in a cocoon for feeding. When he falls asleep, take the cocoon with the baby to the crib - this way you will not disturb or wake him.
2. When you put your baby to bed, throw a blanket over your shoulder or hip. Once he falls asleep, spread the blanket in the crib, and then you can put the baby in it.
There will be no temperature difference, which means he won’t wake up, and his mother’s scent will have a calming effect on him.
3. Try using a side crib. When your baby gets used to sleeping in it, place a bolster between the adult and child beds. After a week, install a side in the child bed at the lower level and gradually raise it higher, moving the crib 3-4 cm every day.
4. When training your baby to sleep in his own bed, try putting him to bed when he is very tired, after bathing and feeding him. When the baby is tired, he will not be able to resist and will fall into a sweet sleep in his own bed.
5. It is important to follow a daily routine and put the child to bed at the same time. This way, his body will learn to fall asleep at certain hours, and the sleep will be more sound and restful.
