Upbringing plays a key role in shaping a person's personality. But are parents always right?
There are several attitudes from parents, because of which a person will never be able to feel happy.
Ideal standards
Many parents try to instill in their children the idea that happiness is only achieved through reaching certain standards of success, beauty or wealth. This creates a constant feeling of inadequacy in the person and prevents him from enjoying what he has.
There is no ideal world, it is important to learn to accept reality as it is.
Restrictions on the expression of feelings
Some parents may suppress their children's expression of emotions. It is not uncommon for parents to teach their children to suppress their feelings or hide them.
This results in a person being unable to normally experience joy, sadness or anger, which ultimately deprives him of the opportunity to feel happy.
Of course, it is important to be able to cope with emotions. But what is the point of hiding them even from the closest ones?
Constant criticism
Parents who constantly criticize their children and find fault with every little flaw can create a constant feeling of dissatisfaction with themselves and their achievements.
This can lead to a person never being satisfied with their successes and, accordingly, not being able to feel happy.
And even if he does something really good and worthwhile, he will feel criticism directed at himself.
Comparison with others
Comparison with other children or with more successful relatives can create a constant feeling of inferiority and envy in a person.
He will constantly compare himself to others and will never be satisfied with his achievements. It is important to understand a simple fact: there will always be a person nearby who is more successful and developed.
Limitations in choosing a life path
Some parents insist on choosing a certain path in life for their children, ignoring their own interests and desires.
This can lead to a person feeling unhappy and dissatisfied with their life, as they will not be living according to their choice.
Also, some parents instill in their children that they cannot change their life path. But is that true?
The world is changing rapidly, so you need to be flexible and be able to navigate the situation. A simple example: if you get fired from your job, isn't this an opportunity to gain new experience or a vacancy that previously seemed inaccessible?
