There is a certain community of parents who consciously do not read fairy tales to their children. The reasons given are varied – from violence to useless fiction.

But American scientists, who disagree with this concept, conducted research and provided several pieces of evidence in favor of reading fairy tales.

American scientists have listed the qualities they discovered in children who listened to fairy tales.

1. Fairy tales help children overcome psychological difficulties, they depend less on adults and become more independent.

2. Children understand that there is a dark side to life, while parents sometimes try to protect their child from trouble.

3. Fairy tales do not mention death or aging as the end of human existence. They often give examples of aging parents giving way to the younger generation.

4. Children learn to share the character's trials and achievements, and at the same time, to distinguish the characters' personalities and to capture images.

5. But most importantly, at the same time, children easily distinguish positive characters from evil ones, thereby identifying themselves with good.
