How to congratulate a child on his birthday in an unusual way: don’t give him a gift – arrange a quest for him

Coming up with and organizing a birthday quest for children at home is not as difficult as it may seem at first glance, but you can be 100% sure of one thing - a child who received a gift in such an unusual way will never forget this holiday.

It’s worth starting with preparing the room – remove everything unnecessary, fragile and valuable from the room, and if you play outside, mark the boundaries of the area, for example, with chalk.

Now you can start choosing the places where the clues with tasks will be hidden. They should not be too obvious, but not too difficult either.

The next thing to do is to create that very chain of tasks. For preschool children, 5-6 hiding places are enough, while for teenagers you can arrange 12-15.

The first clue is usually given in person, but you can also plant it in a prominent place or arrange for your accomplice to leave it at your door and ring the bell.

The children will use the first clue to determine where the second one is, the second one will tell them where the third one is, etc. The last point should contain a gift for the birthday boy and small surprises for the other children.

Children will be even more interested in completing the tasks if you combine them all with one theme, for example, space, dinosaurs, princesses, spies, etc.

The tasks in the quest can be very different - text, letters, graphics, logic, encrypted, etc. Examples can be found on the Internet.
