An independent child is every parent's dream. He does his homework, makes his bed, puts away his toys. You can leave him alone at home.
In fact, this is far from the most reliable sign that the child can be left at home alone and nothing will happen to him.
Experts have given some advice to help parents decide this issue for themselves.
Age - exact or approximate
There are no age indicators, neither exact nor approximate. This is part of the educational process, which depends entirely on the parents.
A child who can stay home alone without fear must have developed a whole range of skills.
And this is not about not opening doors to strangers.
The baby is ready
1. You can safely leave your child at home alone if he is not afraid of being alone in his room, is not afraid of closed doors and enclosed spaces, or the dark.
2. If the child adequately perceives prohibitions and complies with existing safety rules.
Must be able to use a telephone and other means of communication, know who and how to call for help.
3. It is important that children can serve themselves, make a sandwich or find other edible products in the refrigerator, pour water, milk, etc.
What should parents do?
